Oro Valley Water 2014
Oro Valley Water has taken over 5,673 samples since 2010 to analyze the total Coliform bacteria in the water. Under the Safe Drinking Water Act during 2009 the sampled water is to collect data to analyze contaminants.
The Oro Valley system serves over 37,405 people in a 33.1 square miles which is taken from the Canada del Oro wash basin. The water is pumped from 20 wells that range in depth from 350 to 1,000 feet and 35 percent is blended from the Central Arizona Project or CAP.
During the 2014, there were 1,146 water samples taken and over 112 contaminants were tested. The water us treated with chlorine and acts as a disinfectant. Oro Valley provides high quality water but cannot control what is put into the plumbing system.
